Resolved Question: Failure to Yield ticket. Do I have a legitimate case to fight it?

Today I got a ticket in Pomona, CA for "failing to yield." It is code VC 21801(a) and the description is "Yield to Opposing when Turning Left - SB VEHICLE HAD TO STOP ON GREEN LIGHT." Anyways, I feel like I had enough time to turn as it was a red light when the oncoming car was coming to its stop, so I made the decision to go ahead and make my turn at the green (no green arrow). We didn't hit or even come close, but I was pulled over and the cop (heading in same direction behind me) pulled me over and gave me a ticket no questions asked.
