Resolved Question: Questions about college in Southern California?

18 July 2010, 1:51 pm

Ok, I am currently a junior in high school attending a magnet school for engineering, and I am composing a list of colleges to attend for my future. Now I have found the schools I am interested in, but I am stuck on what school has the best computer engineering school. I am thinking of starting out at a community college for my Associates Degree in a computer engineering related course, due to affordability and starting as an out of state student. Here is the list of schools I am currently considering: Community College: -Cypress College in Cypress, CA -Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA -Costline Community College in Fountain Valley, CA Universities (4 year college): -Cal State Fullerton - Fullerton, CA -Cal State Long Beach - Long Beach, CA (Birthtown) -Cal State Northridge - Northridge, CA - Cal Poly Pomona - Pomona, CA Now all of the cities I am framiliar with, do to living in Southern California for 10 years. Except Northridge, CA I have heard alot about this city but I am unfamiliar with what is around, what it is like, is it safe, is it affordable. Please give me a basic description of the city and its surroundings including Simi Valley and San Fernando Valley. Of all the community colleges I listed what has the best Computer Engineering courses? What are the pros, and cons of starting out at a community college and transfering to a four year college? Am I better off just starting at a four year university? Just give me the jist of each college and the city of Northridge, CA. Thank you (:... Read More »
